What is it?
Creation of an embryo via IVF. The oocytes and sperm of the parents-to-be are used if preliminary medical screening shows them to be of good quality, but the woman cannot carry the child herself. The embryo is transferred to the uterine cavity of a surrogate mother, who will carry the child for the couple.
